Water-based printing paste with mother-of-pearl effect
Chemical structure: Aqueous dispersion of mother-of-pearl pigments, pigments, anionic synthetic resins and synthetic thickeners
Appearance: thick paste with mother-of-pearl effect
pH: 7.5 - 9
Viscosity: 30.000-35.000 mPas measured with Haake's rotational viscometer
Storage
It can be s tored in a closed pot between +5 and +20oC for 6 months . P rotect from heat radiation and freezing.
Application
The Printex GL printing pastes have mother-of-pearl effect. The coatability of the printing pastes is excellent, and they produce on surface with different colours - depending on the colour of the surface - different printed colours (on black colour the print is silver).
If we mix Printex GL printing paste with 0,5% - 3% pigments, we can achieve special colour effects (metallic) prints on light and dark coloured surface.
Usage
- The Printex GL printing pastes have to be stirred well before usage.
- They can be diluted with water and can be thickened with Printex V, Printex VA .
- If you add Katalyser D in small amounts to it, the viscosity will be reduced intensively.
- Adding 1-5 % Fixierer-2 to it improves the rubbing- and wash fastness. It should be used, when you colour the GL pastes with more than 1% pigments, or when the surface contains a lot of synthetic yarns.
- The printing paste mixed with Fixirer-2 has a potlife of 3 days.
- By adding Katalyzer SV (0,5-1%) the curing can be performed on lower temperature.
The Printex GL printing pastes getting less coloured because of their bladed pigment content through sublimation, so they are the best solution for printing on highly sublimating synthetic textiles.
We do not recommend to skip the curing completely by using Printex GL printing paste, even when printing on 100% cotton containing surface.
The pot life of the printing paste mixed with Katalizer SV is 1 day!
Recommended mesh
Polyester-Monofilament from 28 to 54
Recommended emulsion
Fotecoat 1010
Fotecoat 1915
Thermosetting of the print
- In a heating chamber: on 150°C 3 minutes
- with contact heat: on 160-180°C 15-20 seconds
- with 0,5% Katalizer SV on 130-150°C 10-15 seconds
Note
Please, always make a test print before starting production runs. Make sure that expected fastness properties can be achieved with the actual base materials within your technological conditions!
