Printex BS

Water-based, ready-to-print screen printing ink for synthetic fabrics

Chemical structure: Aqueous dispersion of anionic synthetic resins and synthetic thickeners

Appearance: thick, white paste

pH-factor: 7,5 - 9

Viscosity: 20.000 - 25.000 mPas measured by Haake's rotational viscosimeter

Storage

protect from radiant heat and freezing, in closed container

Application

Printex BS screen printing ink was developed for printing especially on synthetic fabrics, viscose, artificial silks, swimming costumes. With the help of Printex BS printing paste you can produce elastic, bright coloured prints with soft touch on white or light coloured textiles.

  • 80 - 100 % Printex BS
  • 0 - 5 % pigment or
  • 0 - 15 % fluo-pigment

The colouring pigment has significant influence on fastness (wash-, rub-, light). The ink can be thinned with water and can be thickened with Printex V or Printex VA afterthickener additives.  For lowering viscosity of the inks, we recommend adding Catalyzer D instead of water.

Very small amount can lower the viscosity significantly, and improves the fixing of the ink, catalyses the cross-linking at thermosetting.

  • Adding 1-8 % Fixirer-2 reactive synthetic resin improves rub- and wash fastness, but can ruin the soft handle, the fabric become stiff.
  • Adding 0.5 - 1% Catalyzer SV, makes printing possible on synthetic fabrics, which are not suitable for thermosetting.
  • The ink can be mixed with Fixirer-2 and Catalyzer SV in the same time.

Thermosetting of the print

Always use thermosetting for textiles made of synthetic fibres predominantly.

  • in heated chamber 130 - 150°C 3 - 5 min
  • with contact heat 160 - 180°C 15 - 20 sec
  • adding Catalyzer SV 130°C 15 -20 sec

Recommended mesh

PE monofilament 34 - 68

Recommended emulsion

Fotecoat 1010
Fotecoat 1915

Storage

In closed container, protect from freezing. Shelf life: 6 months. After long storage, thorough stirring is recommended.

Note

Please, always make a test print before starting production runs. Make sure that expected fastness properties can be achieved with the actual base materials within your technological conditions!
